If You Bring Navy SEALs Or Rangers, With Tools We Have, They'll Be Kîlled Like Chickens—Bwala tells Trümp
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has warned that any attempt by US President Donald Trump to deploy Navy SEALs or Rangers to Nigeria would end disastrously, insisting that with Nigeria’s battlefield terrain and existing tools, such trööps would be kîlled like chickens.
In an interview with TVC News, Bwala delivered this position while addressing the spike in banditry and kîdnåppîng that followed Trump’s threat to invade Nigeria over alleged Chrîstian genöcîde.
He explained that the sudden rise in båndîtry and kîdnåppîng attacks may be deliberately staged to justify foreign military intervention, even though Nigeria’s engagement with the US is focused strictly on cooperation, not invasion.
He argued that if the US troops invade Nigeria, they would struggle to carry out their mission because they lack familiarity with Nigeria’s terrain and cannot operate effectively in asymmetric warfare settings where militants hide among civilians.
Bwala stressed that what Nigeria needs is not foreign combat troops but intelligence-driven support, including drone systems, satellite imaging capabilities, and improved intelligence recruitment in local communities to rebuild trust and gather actionable information.
He added that while joint military operations are possible anywhere in the world, Nigeria must lead any security initiative within its borders. Bwala maintained that some foreign interests benefit from escalating insecurity, which is why they promote narratives that justify the need for external military presence.
In his words, "When America said they were going to bring military to fight, suddenly we found back-to-back activities of this terrorism, not to provoke, it is to justify the need for military invasion."
"Our conversation with them is not about the military to invade. It's about let's sit down and see how you can assist us in what we need. If you bring the Navy SEALs or the Rangers, with the tools that we have, they'll be kîlled like chickens."
