NNPCL Cuts Petrol Price Again, Second Reduction in One Week
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) for the second time in less than a week, signaling a continued downward adjustment in fuel costs across the country.
A Watchtower Media correspondent who monitored NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja on Thursday confirmed that the new pump price now stands at N920 per litre, down from N930, reflecting a N10 reduction.
The revised price was observed at NNPCL filling stations in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, and Wuse Zone 4, where the new rate was fully implemented.
This latest adjustment comes just days after the state-owned oil company slashed petrol prices on November 28, 2025, by N15 per litre, marking two consecutive reductions within a short period.
Speaking with reporters, the spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Ukadike, noted that Nigerians should expect further price drops as competition intensifies among major operators in the downstream oil sector.
He explained that increased market rivalry and evolving supply dynamics are pushing prices downward, a trend that may continue in the coming weeks.
