Abia South Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on Monday during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television,
Abaribe said he is confident Nigerians are ready to reject Tinubu.
“Everybody loses elections, and Tinubu will lose in 2027 because I understand how Nigerians feel,” he said, adding that while Tinubu was declared the winner in 2023, he “never truly won” in the eyes of the people.
Abaribe stressed that the opposition is prepared to confront Tinubu directly and doubts any strategy will help him secure victory again. “This time, it won’t be like 2023 when results were announced at 3 a.m. before most people woke up. That tactic won’t work anymore. People are ready, and the masses are even more prepared,” he said.
The senator’s comments reflect growing political tension ahead of the 2027 elections, as opposition figures prepare to challenge the incumbent.
