Tragedy in Yola as Law School Student Dies After Being Barred From Bar Final Exams
A somber mood has enveloped the Yola campus of the Nigerian Law School following the death of a student, Ayomiposi Ojajuni, who reportedly took his own life after being barred from participating in the Bar Final examinations.
According to sources who spoke with SaharaReporters, Ojajuni — a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University — became deeply distressed on Saturday, December 6, upon discovering that he had been disqualified from sitting for the crucial professional exam, which commenced earlier that day.
Witnesses said the young law student, overwhelmed by the news, allegedly ingested a harmful substance shortly after being notified of the school’s decision.
Further investigations revealed that the action taken against him was linked to disciplinary issues, including several queries previously issued to him by the institution’s management.
Ojajuni was urgently taken to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, where he sadly passed away on Sunday, despite efforts to save his life.
The incident has sparked shock and concern within the legal education community, prompting calls for a deeper look into student welfare and disciplinary processes within the Nigerian Law School.
