Police Arrest Suspect in Connection to Singer Destiny Boy’s Death
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the d+ath of popular Nigerian singer Adesina Afeez, widely known as Destiny Boy.
The police confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for a detailed investigation.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi.
According to the statement, “The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.”
News of the singer’s d+ath broke on Sunday after videos showing his body being taken to a mortuary surfaced on social media, sparking widespread grief and speculation. In one of the clips, the artiste was seen lying in the back of a vehicle with cotton wool placed in his nostrils and ears.
Amid the reactions, an unidentified associate released a separate video, claiming the singer had been battling a private health challenge before his death. The associate said efforts were made to save him but were unsuccessful.
