Teachers, students and parents across Kaduna State have expressed relief and optimism as public schools reopened on Monday following the introduction of enhanced security measures aimed at safeguarding learners and educators after months of disruption caused by insecurity.
The Kaduna State Government announced the resumption after consultations with security agencies and education stakeholders, citing improved patrols and strengthened safety protocols around school premises as key factors in the decision.

At several schools visited across the state capital and surrounding communities, teachers commended the visible presence of security personnel and local vigilantes, describing it as a confidence-boosting step that encouraged parents to allow their children return to class.
Students, many of whom had been out of school for weeks, said they were eager to resume learning and reconnect with classmates in what they described as a safer and more organised environment.
