ADC Gains Big as Omowani Authentic Crosses Over with Loyalists

Hon. Saheed Olawale Olunlade, popularly known as Omowani Authentic, has officially defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, in a move that is already generating political ripples across Ido Local Government and beyond.

Olunlade, who contested the Oyo State House of Assembly seat in the 2023 general election under the NNPP platform for Ido Constituency, made the strategic switch alongside a large number of his loyal supporters, grassroots coordinators, and political associates.

The defection ceremony, which drew party faithful and community stakeholders, underscored his growing influence in local politics and signaled what observers describe as a major boost for the ADC in Ido Local Government. Among the eminent party members that defected with him are  Hon. Bolaji Alao IDOWU former NNPP party chairman and former NNPP vice chairman candidate Ido LGA in 2024 election
2) Hon. Akinborewa Tosin former ward 9 NNPP councilor candidate, IDO LGA
3) MRS STELLA OLADEJO OLUYEMISI Former NNPP Party SECRETARY IDO LGA
4) MR AKINBOLA JOSEPH AKINDELE former NNPP Youth leader ward 4 Ido LGA
5) Mr Badmus Ademola Yakub former NNPP ward 10 Chairman
6) Mr Wale Ajibosin former NNPP ward 10 PRO
And others

A renowned philanthropist and grassroots mobilizer, Omowani Authentic is widely celebrated for his humanitarian gestures and community-driven initiatives. Over the years, he has supported widows, empowered youths, assisted students with educational materials and fees, and extended financial relief to struggling families. Many residents attest that his interventions have brought hope to the less privileged and restored dignity to vulnerable members of the society.

Speaking on his decision to join the ADC, Olunlade emphasized that his political journey has always been rooted in service, compassion, and genuine concern for humanity. According to him, his desire to seek elective office is driven by a firm commitment to “wipe the sweat and tears of the needy” and to institutionalize empowerment programs that can reach a broader population.

He expressed confidence that the African Democratic Congress shares the same human-centered political ideology he believes in — one that prioritizes social justice, people-oriented governance, and inclusive development.

Political analysts note that his defection could reshape the political dynamics in Ido ahead of future elections, as his entry into ADC is expected to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and expand its support base.

With this development, stakeholders are keenly watching how Omowani Authentic’s next political steps will unfold, as he positions himself within a new platform that he says aligns with his vision of service, equity, and sustainable development.
