ADC Ready to Take Over Oyo, Nigeria, Aborisade Charges Party Members on Unity
The Oyo South Senatorial meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held on Wednesday at the Foko Health Centre, Ibadan, recorded a massive turnout as party leaders, stakeholders and supporters gathered to deliberate on strategies to strengthen the party’s structure across the senatorial district.
The meeting, which had in attendance the Oyo State Chairman of ADC, Alhaji Yinka Olona, was described by participants as a strong demonstration of the growing acceptance and grassroots expansion of the party in Oyo South.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade (BANA), a prominent chieftain of the party and ADC Governorship Aspirant for 2027, declared that the ADC remains the most prepared political platform to take over governance in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
Aborisade said the overwhelming turnout at the Foko Health Centre was a clear indication that the people are yearning for credible leadership and a viable alternative to the existing political order.
“ADC is the party ready to take over Oyo State and Nigeria. But we must guard our house jealously. We must remain united, disciplined and focused,” Aborisade stated.
The legal luminary warned party members against allowing internal conflicts that weakened other major political parties, such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party, to infiltrate the ADC.
According to him, internal wrangling and lack of cohesion have historically undermined promising political movements, stressing that unity must remain the cornerstone of ADC’s growth.
“We must learn from the mistakes of others. Internal crisis destroyed strong platforms. We cannot afford that in ADC. Our strength lies in our unity and collective vision,” he emphasized.
Aborisade further urged party faithful across the nine Local Government Areas in Oyo South Senatorial District to intensify grassroots mobilisation, expand membership drives and maintain peace within party ranks.
He reiterated that ADC’s ideology is rooted in accountability, transparency and people-centered governance, adding that the party is committed to delivering purposeful leadership that prioritises economic development, youth empowerment and social welfare.
In his remarks, Alhaji Yinka Olona, the Oyo State Chairman of ADC, commended party members for their dedication and resilience. He assured them that the state executive remains committed to strengthening the party’s structure from ward level to the state.
Olona emphasized that discipline, loyalty and strategic coordination among party leaders would be key to securing electoral victories in future contests.
Stakeholders at the meeting expressed confidence in the leadership of Barrister Aborisade, describing him as a visionary leader with the experience and ideological clarity needed to reposition Oyo State.
Political observers noted that the large turnout and high level of enthusiasm among members reflect ADC’s growing influence in Oyo South and beyond.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from party members to work collectively towards building a formidable political force capable of winning future elections and providing responsible governance in Oyo State and Nigeria.
