Nigerian man arrested for Sexually Abusing his clients at a USA Nursing Home

Authorities in the United States have arrested a 61-year-old Nigerian man, Kayode Agbolade Ogunba, over allegations that he sexually abused patients while working at a nursing home in Santa Barbara County, California.

Ogunba, a certified nursing assistant, came under investigation in early November 2025 after a nursing facility in Goleta reported that two patients had been sexually assaulted while under his care, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Ogunba had previously been linked to similar allegations in the Los Angeles area and is believed to have worked in other states, including Washington and Texas.

Following weeks of investigation, Ogunba was arrested on January 20, 2026, in Los Angeles on a Santa Barbara County warrant. He is facing multiple felony charges, including sexual penetration, lewd or lascivious acts by a caretaker against a dependent person involving force, and elder abuse. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of sexual battery of a dependent adult.

Authorities noted that Ogunba may have used the name “Kay” in professional or personal settings.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that he is currently being held at the Santa Barbara County Main Jail with bail set at $100,000.
