RAMADAN KAREEM: ADC GUBERNATORIAL ASPIRANT, BARRISTER CHIEF NIYI ABORISADE (BANA), FELICITATES MUSLIMS, URGES PRAYERS FOR OYO AND NIGERIA
The Governorship Aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State for the 2027 general elections, Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade (BANA), has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Oyo State and Nigeria as the holy month of Ramadan begins.
In a detailed goodwill message made available to journalists, the Ibadan Chief, philanthropist and legal luminary described Ramadan as a sacred season of spiritual rebirth, moral discipline and renewed commitment to the service of Allah and humanity.
Barrister Chief Aborisade (BANA) noted that Ramadan remains one of the most significant pillars of Islam, a month dedicated to fasting, prayer, charity and self-reflection as prescribed in the Qur'an and exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
“Ramadan Kareem to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Oyo State and across Nigeria. This is a divine opportunity for spiritual cleansing, deeper devotion and sincere repentance. It is a month that teaches patience, humility, sacrifice, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah,” BANA stated.
The ADC governorship aspirant urged Muslims to strictly abide by the rules and spiritual guidelines of the holy month, emphasizing that fasting goes beyond abstaining from food and drink, but also involves refraining from sinful acts, harmful speech, injustice and all forms of wrongdoing.
According to him, “The true essence of Ramadan lies in self-discipline, compassion for the less privileged and commitment to righteous living. Let us imbibe these timeless lessons and ensure they shape our conduct even after the holy month.”
As a philanthropist deeply committed to the welfare of the people, Barrister Chief Aborisade encouraged well-meaning individuals to use the period to extend hands of generosity to widows, orphans, the elderly and the vulnerable in society. He stressed that acts of charity and kindness are central to the spirit of Ramadan and critical to building a more caring and united Oyo State.
BANA also called on the Muslim Ummah to use the sacred period to pray fervently for the peace, security and economic prosperity of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“At this crucial time in our history, we must seek divine intervention for our state and our nation. Let us pray for visionary leadership, justice in governance, improved welfare for our people, opportunities for our youths, and stability in our economy. Through sincere prayers and collective responsibility, we can build the Oyo State of our dreams,” he added.
The Ibadan Chief further appealed for unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of the state, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnic background or religious belief. He stressed that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual respect.
Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade (BANA) expressed optimism that the blessings of Ramadan would usher in renewed hope, divine guidance and abundant progress for Oyo State and Nigeria.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the fasts, prayers and supplications of the faithful, grant them good health and longevity, forgive their shortcomings, and reward their sacrifices abundantly.
“May this Ramadan bring peace to our homes, prosperity to our land and enduring unity to our people. Ramadan Kareem,” he concluded.
