We have gone from rubbles to global recognition — First Lady Oluremi Tinubu comments on Trump’s surprise acknowledgement
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has described her recent recognition by United States President Donald Trump as a “blessing,” saying she never imagined she would receive such global attention.
Speaking in a recent interview on Fox News, the First Lady expressed gratitude and surprise over the acknowledgment, noting that it has brought her increased international visibility.
“It was quite a blessing. Who would have thought that President Trump would recognise me? I am getting global recognition on all of this, and that is what life is all about,” she said.
Mrs Tinubu reflected on Nigeria’s journey, explaining that success often begins in difficult circumstances before growing into something meaningful.
“If something is going to be good, it starts from the rubbles. And it starts like that. And then we have that attention, we have the recognition going,” she stated.
She added that the recognition is expected to strengthen relations and bring positive outcomes for both Nigeria and the United States.
“We are expecting that it’s going to yield a better fruit for us and America,” she said.
