Court Clears ICPC to Probe Electronic Devices Seized from El-Rufai’s Residence

A court has granted permission to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to examine electronic devices recovered from the residence of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

The approval allows investigators to carry out forensic analysis on the devices as part of an ongoing probe involving allegations connected to the former governor.

During proceedings, the court ruled that the anti-graft agency could lawfully access and analyse the electronic materials obtained during its investigation.

Legal sources indicated that the examination of the devices could provide digital evidence relevant to the case currently under review.

The development forms part of a series of legal and investigative actions surrounding El-Rufai in recent weeks, including his ongoing legal dispute with the ICPC over alleged rights violations.

Analysts say the outcome of the forensic examination could play a significant role in determining the direction of the investigation.
