Osun 2026: Adeleke Warns APC Against Using ‘Federal Might’ in Governorship Poll
Governor Ademola Adeleke has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against attempting to deploy what he described as “federal might” in the build-up to the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
Adeleke, who spoke while addressing party supporters and stakeholders, said the people of the state would resist any attempt to manipulate the democratic process.
The governor expressed confidence that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would retain power in the state, insisting that the administration’s performance and grassroots support would determine the outcome of the election.
He also urged security agencies and electoral authorities to remain neutral and ensure a level playing field for all political parties participating in the poll.
Adeleke stressed that democracy thrives when elections are conducted freely and fairly without intimidation or undue influence from federal authorities.
Political activities are already intensifying across Nigeria as parties begin early positioning ahead of major elections scheduled in the coming years.
