“Youthful, Accountable, Committed: Hon. Ademola Oyepeju Ara Stakes Claim for Oluyole Constituency”

Nigerian politics, according to Hon. Ademola Oyepeju Ara, House of Representatives hopeful for Oluyole Federal Constituency, is in dire need of reform, starting with the politicians themselves. On The Poliscope — Dominion Television Ibadan’s flagship political show — Ara did not mince words, describing many political actors as “lazy” and disconnected from the very people they are meant to serve.

‎“They want a free ride to office without actually working for it through grassroots mobilization and presenting concrete manifestos,” he said. “Most of them are controlled by party bigwigs and are loyal to the party hierarchy rather than the people who voted them.”

‎Ara stressed the importance of civic responsibility, calling on Nigerians to actively participate in the electoral process. “Votes do count,” he said. “Citizens must come out to register and cast their votes. Voter apathy is the only time manipulation and rigging can succeed.”

‎A lifelong resident of Oluyole Local Government, Ara emphasized his deep local roots. “I am a son of the soil with family across all 10 wards. I know this local government like the back of my palm and understand the needs of our communities. These are the issues I will passionately advocate for on the floor of the House when elected.”

‎He also explained his decision to run under the ACCORD Party, citing the party’s commitment to youthfulness, accountability, and political freedom. “Unlike some parties where candidates are forced on the people, ACCORD gives young leaders the wings to fly and the platform to make a difference,” he said.

‎Ara’s remarks highlight a growing demand among Nigerians for leaders who are accountable, community-focused, and willing to engage directly with constituents rather than relying on party machinery. With elections approaching, his call for grassroots involvement resonates as a reminder that the power ultimately lies in the hands of the people.
