Good Friday: Aborisade Calls for Sacrifice, Ethical Leadership, and Unity Ahead of 2027 Race
A leading gubernatorial aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Barrister Niyi Aborisade, has extended warm Good Friday greetings to Christian faithful across Oyo State and beyond, urging them to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, love, and hope exemplified by Jesus Christ.
In a statement released on Friday, Aborisade, who is also the Mogaji of Ajagba Compound, Oke-Offa Baba’sale, described Good Friday as a solemn reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made for humanity, calling on Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and selflessness in their daily lives.
“Good Friday is a time for deep reflection. It reminds us that through sacrifice comes redemption and hope. I urge all Christian faithful to hold firmly to these values as we collectively strive for a better and more just society,” he said.
The UK-trained legal practitioner emphasized the need for leaders at all levels to embody the principles of accountability, service, and integrity, noting that Nigeria’s progress depends on a renewed commitment to ethical governance.
Aborisade, who is widely regarded as a strong contender in the 2027 gubernatorial race in Oyo State, also used the occasion to call for peace and tolerance among citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“As we mark this sacred day, let us extend love to one another, support the vulnerable, and work together to build a state and nation we can all be proud of,” he added.
He concluded by wishing Christians a reflective Good Friday and a hopeful Easter celebration, praying that the season brings healing, renewal, and enduring peace to all.
