Binani Dumps ADC for NDC Nine Months After Leaving APC

Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), marking yet another major shift in her political journey.

The move, announced on Friday, comes exactly nine months after Binani left the APC for the ADC, in what observers see as a fresh political realignment ahead of future electoral contests.

Binani formally received her NDC membership card during a ceremony attended by party leaders and supporters, where former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, welcomed her into the fold.

At the event, Dickson, who is the national leader of the NDC, also announced Binani as the party’s leader in Adamawa State, pending the completion of internal democratic processes.

Her latest defection has already stirred political reactions, with analysts describing the move as a significant development in Adamawa’s evolving political landscape and a signal of wider realignments ahead of the next election cycle.
