NESG: Where Do You Expect a Civil Servant to Have N3bn, N3M, & N5M for Houses Without Corruption? —President Tinubu

The President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while speaking at the National Economic Summit, questioned the expectation that civil servants should have substantial amounts of money, such as 3 billion, 3 million, or 5 million Naira, for purchasing houses, pointing out that such wealth accumulation would be difficult to achieve without corrupt practices.
In a video posted by Arise TV, President Tinubu emphasised the importance of addressing the welfare and working conditions of those in the judiciary. He suggested that expecting judges and legal professionals to deliver fair and just outcomes while struggling with hunger and economic challenges is not practical.

According to him, "Why do you expect a civil servant to have N3 billion, N3 million, and N5 million for houses without corruption? If you don't change and plan the welfare of your judiciary, and you ask them to be fair, render justice with mercy with an hungry stomach. A new and affordable home will also be built at a record space. I assure you."
