The federal government distributes ten thousand bags of rice to the people of Oyo state to ensure food security.
This was revealed at the official flag-off of the first phase distribution in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu warned against playing politics in the distribution process, noting that the distribution was a quick fix and efforts of the Federal Government to cushion the effects of economic hardship.
President Tinubu assured that palliatives would be distributed from time to time and directed the state’s committee in charge of palliatives distribution to ensure that the items get to the most vulnerable in every nook and cranny of oyo state.
The beneficiaries of the palliative distribution include all Radio Stations in Oyo state, IPAC, TUC, NLC, TAMPAN, TRADERS & ARTISANS.
This move was facilitated by Group Managing Director, Yes FM, Mr Yemi Sonde, Chief Operation Officer, Honor FM, Comrade Seun Awodele and General Manager, Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu through National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Oyo state zone and Society of Nigeria Broadcasters, SNB, Oyo state council.
Present at the event include Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Oyo state council, Comrade Kayode Martins, Traders associations in Oyo state, Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association Of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and Religious Groups.
