Ijebu Ode — Chief Sony Kuku, the Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland, has formally assumed the role of Regent Awujale of Ijebuland, becoming the highest-ranking traditional figure in the Awujale’s Palace.
Chief Kuku, who also holds the prestigious titles of Olor’ogun of Ijebu Ode and Asiwaju of the Balogun Kuku Dynasty, is widely respected across Ijebuland for his leadership, cultural wisdom, and long-standing service to the community.
His appointment as Regent comes at a crucial period in the history of Ijebuland, as preparations are underway for the selection of the next Awujale.
