Breaking News: Adewale ‘Aeroland’ Dumps PDP, Blames Bode George for Party’s Decline
Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Otunba Segun Adewale, popularly known as Aeroland, has announced his resignation from the party, citing irreconcilable differences and internal sabotage led by Chief Bode George and his allies.
In a letter obtained by Lagos Reporters on Friday, Adewale declared that his membership of the PDP is terminated with immediate effect after nearly two decades of active contribution to the party’s growth.
According to him, recent developments within the PDP have made it impossible to continue, as the party has been reduced to a shadow of itself due to power struggles and self-serving interests.
Adewale accused Chief Bode George of persistently undermining the party’s electoral fortunes in Lagos by working hand in hand with opposition forces. He lamented that despite George’s repeated failures at the polls, including losing his polling unit, ward, and inability to produce a single councillor, the PDP leadership continues to shield him from accountability.
“Bode George has even encouraged members to defect to Labour Party and ADP for selfish motives, creating prolonged conflicts with loyal party members who resist his anti-party activities,” Adewale stated.
The former PDP chairman said the party has been weakened nationally and in Lagos due to unending internal wrangling, leaving it far behind other political forces.
While stressing that he will unveil his next political steps in due time, Adewale disclosed that he intends to take a break to focus on his business and family, which he admitted have been neglected over the last 15 years of his political struggles.
“I, Otunba Segun Adewale, resign from PDP. I will communicate my next political journey to my supporters soon,” he concluded.
