Imo: Three Police Officers Dismissed Over Armed Robbery, Kidnapping

The Imo State Police Command has dismissed three of its officers over their alleged involvement in armed robbery, kidnapping and car snatching.

The officers were dismissed following an internal disciplinary process after investigations reportedly linked them to criminal activities within the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command said the decision was taken in line with the Nigeria Police Force’s zero tolerance for corruption and misconduct.

According to the statement, the dismissed officers were found culpable of engaging in acts that contravene the ethics and professional standards of the Force.

“The command will not shield any personnel found involved in criminal activities. The affected officers have been dismissed and will face prosecution in accordance with the law,” the statement read.

The command assured residents of Imo State of its commitment to maintaining discipline within the ranks and restoring public confidence in policing.

It also urged members of the public to report suspicious activities and misconduct by security personnel through appropriate channels.

The dismissal comes amid ongoing efforts by the police hierarchy to reform the Force and strengthen accountability mechanisms nationwide.
