2027: Don’t Waste Your Time and Resources – Igbokwe Tells Obi, Atiku
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has advised opposition figures including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar not to waste their time and resources contesting the 2027 presidential election.
According to a report by Daily Post Nigeria, Igbokwe said the opposition leaders should reconsider their political ambitions, insisting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains strongly positioned ahead of the next election cycle.
The APC stalwart argued that Tinubu’s administration is already laying the groundwork that would strengthen the party’s chances of retaining power in 2027.
He urged the opposition figures to focus their energy on supporting national development rather than preparing for what he described as a difficult electoral battle.
Igbokwe’s comments come amid increasing political activities and realignments across Nigeria’s political landscape as parties and key figures begin positioning themselves for the next general elections.
Observers say the 2027 race is already attracting attention, with several political actors openly discussing potential candidacies and alliances.
