Wike-Backed PDP Faction Rolls Out Conditions for Party Reconciliation
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has outlined conditions for reconciliation within the party.
Leaders of the group said meaningful peace in the PDP can only be achieved if certain issues affecting the party’s structure and leadership are addressed.
The faction stressed that genuine reconciliation would require fairness, respect for internal agreements and recognition of the concerns raised by aggrieved members.
According to sources within the party, the Wike-aligned bloc believes the crisis rocking the PDP must be resolved through dialogue and compromise among key stakeholders.
The development comes amid ongoing internal tensions within the party, with different factions continuing to express divergent views over leadership and political direction.
Political observers say the resolution of the crisis will be crucial for the PDP as it seeks to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
