Aborisade Felicitates Christians on Easter, Urges Hope, Sacrifice, and Unity in Oyo
A leading gubernatorial aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Niyi Aborisade, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians across the state and Nigeria at large, calling on citizens to embrace hope, unity, and the spirit of sacrifice that defines the season.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan, Aborisade congratulated Christian faithful on the successful completion of the Lenten season and the celebration of Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He described the occasion as one of the most significant periods in the Christian calendar, symbolizing victory over adversity, renewal of faith, and the promise of a brighter future.
The ADC chieftain urged residents of Oyo State to draw inspiration from the message of Easter by promoting love, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding in their communities. According to him, the lessons of sacrifice and selflessness embodied by Christ remain crucial in addressing societal challenges and fostering sustainable development.
“Easter is a season that reminds us of the triumph of hope over despair and light over darkness. It calls on us to renew our faith in God and in one another, while also committing ourselves to the ideals of unity, compassion, and service to humanity,” he said.
Aborisade emphasized that Oyo State, like many parts of the country, is at a critical point where collective responsibility and purposeful leadership are required to overcome present challenges and unlock greater opportunities for the people. He noted that with unity of purpose and sincere commitment, the state can achieve meaningful progress and inclusive growth.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, may this sacred season inspire a new wave of hope, renewal, and shared responsibility among our people. Together, we can build a state that works for all, regardless of background or belief,” he added.
The 2027 governorship hopeful further called on political leaders and stakeholders to prioritize the welfare of the people and work collaboratively towards strengthening democratic values and good governance in the state.
He concluded by praying for peace, stability, and continued development in Oyo State and Nigeria, wishing all Christians a joyful, peaceful, and fulfilling Easter celebration filled with love and renewed strength.
