Breaking News: Atiku, Peter Obi, El-Rufai Visit Buhari’s Family, Pray at Late President’s Gravesite
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday morning led a high-profile condolence visit to the residence of late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
Atiku was accompanied by former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, as well as former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
The trio visited the Buhari family to express their heartfelt condolences following the passing of the former Nigerian leader. During the visit, Peter Obi was seen consoling the late President’s daughters and offering words of comfort to the grieving family.
After the meeting, Atiku and El-Rufai visited the grave of the former President, located within the premises, where they offered solemn prayers in his honour.
President Muhammadu Buhari died in London on Sunday after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness. He was laid to rest on Tuesday at his private residence in Daura following Islamic funeral rites.
The visit by these prominent political figures underscores the national significance of Buhari’s death and the deep mark he left on Nigeria’s political landscape.
